Planning Selling

Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day…

…But our house sold that fast!

You read that right, we sold our house in one day! Here’s how it went down:

  • We put on our “cool aunt” hats and took AC’s nephew to compete in the National History Bee in DC. While we were there, our house entered “coming soon” status on Friday. Realtors promptly scheduled about 12 showings for Sun-Tues.
  • We left DC on Saturday and headed to TN for Caraway vacation.
  • The house officially hit the market on Sunday.
  • We received and accepted a great offer on Monday ($5k over asking, closing in late July…we really couldn’t have asked for better!)

Offers

We had multiple offers so we could have set a “submit your best offer by” date, but this offer was so strong (and the others were not) that we decided we didn’t want to risk scaring this buyer off. Tuesday morning we finished signing the papers and were officially under contract!

Now we just need the appraisal to come in strong. Our realtor thinks we’ll be fine, but I probably won’t get a full night of sleep again until that number comes through…send good vibes!

We were hoping the house would sell while we were gone and, low and behold, it did! As one of my favorite water bottle stickers says, you gotta “manifest that s#!%”  Be right back, going to manifest a high appraisal…

Until next time,

Charli
